Summary: Joined VMF-112 at Kearney Mesa, CA in September 1942. Served at Guadalcanal from November 1942 to 23 January 1943. Served as ordnance NCOIC. Discharged from Marine Corps 11 March 1946 with grade of Master Sergeant. Following the war served as an inspector for the Bureau of Aeronautics at Goodyear Akron Airport. Joined the Reserves (VMF-231) at Akron, OH when they were flying the F8F Bearcat. Recalled to active duty October 1951 (Korean War). Taught school at NAS Jacksonville Navy Ordnance School. Discharged from active duty during October 1953. Became manager of Yellow Pages for Ohio Bell Telephone Company until retirement after 36 years.
