Message: Public News Release 2007-02 26 August 2007 The Nittany Leathernecks are pleased to announce that the president of The Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Graham Spanier, will be Honorary Chairperson for the 2007 Centre County Toys for Tots campaign effort. Through the years Penn State has provided the critical support necessary to help make the program the success it has become. It is therefore fitting that Dr. Spanier honor us with his support on this 20th anniversary of the local program effort. The Centre County Toys for Tots program currently supports 3000+ economically disadvantaged children ranging in ages from infant through young adults. The program is designed to bring the community together in an offer of hope to those less fortunate. Dr. Spanier will be the guest speaker at the annual kick-off breakfast, which will be held Monday, 19 November at the State College Ramada Inn Conference Center (1450 S. Atherton St.). The event will begin promptly 0830. For more information about the Centre County Toys for Tots Program, and the kick-off breakfast, please contact Gene Weller (Chairman, Centre County Toys for Tots) at 814-234-9831 or Greg Johnson (Vice Chairman, Centre County Toys for Tots) at 865-8207.
